Wednesday, March 11th, 2009FLINCH, which features my stories White Dove III and 96000m is coming in May from Gestalt Comics and the publicity has begun. This stunning anthology, which features the work of Shaun Tan, Tom Bonin, James Barclay, Justin Randall, Bobby N, Colin Wilson, Terry Dowling and a host of other amazing creators has, unsurprisingly, started attracting a bit of media attention.
There was a story on ABC online yesterday and FLINCH was the feature story on Newsarama last I checked.
My fantastic editor Wolfgang Bylsma, who is at this moment tirelessly working to get The Example ready for Supanova instead of sleeping, talked up 96000m in the interview.
Bylsma picks “96,000m” by Tom Taylor and Tom Bonin as the book’s most offbeat interpretation of the word “flinch.” “I refer to the story endearingly as ‘Giant Squids and the Men Who Love Them,’” Bylsma says. “I’ll leave the rest up to your imagination…”

Jo Chen On Star Wars: Invasion

And with the first cover comes the unveiling of cover artist, Jo Chen! Jo’s work on Buffy and Runaways is stunning and I’m really happy to see her art on our series.

A Quick Star Wars: Invasion, Brief Cases And Flinch Update
Tuesday, February 24th, 2009Things are moving fast on a lot of my projects at the moment.
First up, the official magazine for Supanova is out this week, which features another interview with Colin and I about the upcoming Star Wars: Invasion series – online link coming soon.
I was interviewed over at the force.net by Mike Cooper (hi Mike), where I was able to speak not just about the series but also about some of my favourite books and writers. Colin was also interviewed on the site. They call me Mr. Taylor over there… I like it.
There have also been a few other interview requests which we will definitely get to.
Star Wars editor Randy Stradley has hinted on some boards that there will be an announcement about the series at Wondercon in San Francisco this weekend. This is a very cool announcement that I’ve been wanting to scream from my rooftop for a while now… not in a freaky ‘lock this guy up, he’s a danger to society’ way, just in a happy way.
Meanwhile, the new Flinch website is up and running with preview art, bloggy goodness and general functionality. My two stories ‘96000m‘ and ‘White Dove III‘ are both featured, as well as the other quality stories that make up this great book – check it out here.
The Brief Cases online production diary has also been updated with some Colin Wilson sketches and previews as well as some comments from the man himself.

White Dove III and 96000 Metres
Thursday, August 21st, 2008There are several exciting Comic Book projects in the works at the moment; a number of which I can’t talk about yet, but I will when I can.
I have two stories in an upcoming anthology; White Dove III illustrated by Colin Wilson (Judge Dredd, Star Wars, Point Blank) and 96000 Metres illustrated by Tom Bonin (Dicks). The anthology is due for publication in January – officially solicited in October. There are some other great well known creators involved. More when it’s official.
