A few good reviews.
From The Sci-Fi Bloc…
“This is definitely a comic to keep your eye on. There is action here, but this issue generally starts things off with reservation, as though it is confident enough in its overarching story not to feel a need to wow us right away. Especially when you’re talking about a race coming from without to invade an entire galaxy, the temptation to try to go big-for-the-sake-of-big must have been strong. It is a good sign that this comic avoids such an approach.” – The Sci-Fi Bloc
From our friends over at NJOE.com…
“The best character, for me, is definitely Kaye. She is every inch the leader. I would follow her into battle….this was a great issue to not only catch up with the whole cast but propel the story into where it needs to go for the rest of the arc, and yes it feels great to have Invasion back on the shelves again.” – NJOE.com
More…
“We’ve got some kick butt females in command of a Vong cruiser causing havoc. We’ve got a traitor waiting to be discovered..and we’ve got a Jedi in training that doesn’t listen to Luke and Luke doesn’t mind that much. It all makes for good fun, a decent read and solid artwork to match.” - Show Me Sci Fi
“Consistency may not always lead to continued press coverage, but it does lead to some pretty spectacular books, of which this issue is a fine example. Rescues #1 continues on from the previous Star Wars: Invasion mini-series, but you don’t need to have read that to get up to speed on this new book – a short blurb and some clever exposition provides all you need to know without infuriating existing readers.” - Pop Culture Hound
Also, below is a glimpse of a very limited edition alternative cover by Jo Chen, offered as part of a competition Dark Horse are running.

The ‘Wildstorm Addiction’ podcast have reviewed Authority #22 and have raved about our first issue for over ten minutes.
I have to say I grinned the whole time I was listening to this…
“Just talking about this issue, I’m smiling from ear to ear. To me, this issue was a ‘ten’. This issue was just amazing. the humour, the action, everything. I can’t get over this issue. I haven’t read anything so fun in a long time.” ”They just jumped on to this and they nailed it!” The next month can’t get here fast enough” – Wildstorm Addiction Podcast.

Issue #23 of The Authority is in stores June 2.

My first issue of The Authority hit the stands yesterday and, so far, I’ve only read good things about the issue… which is nice.

The first review is up at Comic Addiction
“As much as I hated to see the previous creative team go, I can tell already that the title is in good hands. 8 out of 10 (On its way to greatness!)” – Comic Addiction
My first Authority interview has also appeared over at the Higher Authority – Tom Taylor: The Theater of Comics
“You know that feeling when you’re endangering your own love-life by juggling knives over your wife for total strangers and a hat-full of coins? No? Well, just like that, writing comics feels a little bit risky but absolutely right.”

Thanks to the various people who emailed me today to let me know that Aint it Cool News has given Dragonsnakes what the fans are calling one of the best reviews AICN has ever given a Star Wars book.
Click the pic for the review.

I’m really happy to see so many nice things written about this book and even happier that I get to follow it up with The Will of Darth Vader, which is one of the most fun scripts I’ve written.
Stay tuned for more Star Wars news soon…

With the imminent release of The Authority, the second Volume of Star Wars: Invasion and the announcement of the Rombies series, I’ve been doing a pile of interviews recently. I thought I’d actually post some links.
First up, Colin Wilson and I were interviewed by the Comic Spot radio program about Star Wars and The Example. You can hear all of that right here
Next up, Rombies artist Skye Ogden and I were interviewed by the awesome website Cool Shite about our upcoming Rombies series. It’s a slightly awkward interview, as two interviewers try to interview two creatives in two different countries, but it has Zombie Gazelles and no one needs more than that.
Luke Skywalker and the Treasure of the Dragonsnakes is reviewed by the EU Review here (at about 18 minutes). The script and Daxiong’s art both come in for some high praise. “A very good read’ that they ‘highly recommend”.
Over at Half Hour Wasted and the Legion of Dudes, an entire extended edition has been dedicated to a review of Star Wars: Invasion #4 & #5 and they like us… they really like us! Click the pic for the podcast.
Also just done two magazine interviews, another radio interview and three other website interviews (links when they all appear).
In the coming days, the website is being revamped – it will look pretty. When it relaunches, I should be able to speak about a few of the ‘secret’ things that I’ve had to keep close to my chest, including ‘The Example’ film news and another great piece of news about ‘The Authority’.

A couple of reviews for Star Wars: Invasion #0 have appeared. Here they are.
From Undercover Fanboy…
“Star Wars: Invasion #0 does not disappoint. Writer Tom Taylor has done his research and brings new insight to established characters every issue. If you only pick up one Star Wars title a month – this is it…”
-undercoverfanboy.com
From NJOE…
“When TOS posted the first two-parts to the Invasion story I figured that Tom and Colin had told what they wanted to. Oh how wrong I was. In six extra pages we learn so much more about the series and it’s main heroes.”

The first reviews are coming in for Star Wars Invasion #4.
From Comic List…
“The artwork was outstanding. I enjoyed all of the details of Falcon. Whether it’s the interior or the exterior, the Falcon looks every bit the part of the original trilogy.”
“For those readers who are craving the original trilogy cast then this issue is for you. Not only do you get most of the key characters, but they don’t feel hollow. Their dialogue and actions seem worthy of the actions that took place in Return of the Jedi… 4 out of 5 geek goggles.”
-Comiclist.com

NJOE.com have a lot to say, with Kaye Galfridian getting a heap of love.
“Have I mentioned before that I love Kaye? I do, I really do. Everything about her just screams ‘Kick ass!!’”
“AND Tom totally nailed the interaction between Han and Leia!! That whole scene was heartbreakingly sad and humorous at the same time.”
-NJOE.com
From Undercover Fanboy…
“(A) Must buy for any Star Wars fans.”
-Undercoverfanboy.com
Also, there will be some big news tomorrow – stay tuned.
