Two Books. Two Galaxies. Two Epic Space Battles Come to an Explosive End.

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

Two epic battles have been raging in the pages of Star Wars: Invasion – Revelations and DCUO Legends: The Brainiac – Sinestro Corps War, and both come to a climactic end this week. Two wars. Two Galaxies. Two books. Two publishers. One big week.

These two story arcs probably contain my largest ever fictional body count.

Hal Jordan is seriously conflicted as he and the Green Lantern Corps arrive at Korugar to “contain” the war between Sinestro’s Yellow Lanterns and Brainiac–but can they save the planet of innocents caught in the crossfire? And how desperate could things possibly get that would see Hal team up with Sinestro for one final battle?!

Queen Nina and Princess Kaye have successfully rescued the refugees from the Battle of Shramar, but the Yuuzhan Vong invaders may still have another win for their tally. Or is there another revelation in store? Meanwhile, on Coruscant, Jedi-in-training Finn Galfridian finds that in trying to prevent an assassination, he may be complicit in one! The next revelation may be about Finn’s new mentor!

Today. ‘Revelations’ lives up to its name.

Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

Today sees the release of Star Wars: Invasion – Revelations #4 and, although there have been plenty of surprises so far, this is the issue where the ‘Revelations’ become, well… revelatory. Issue #4 is where it also gets quite explodey and carnagey, as you’d probably expect from a cover like this…

And don’t forget, next week sees my first work in the DC Universe as I pit the Green Lantern Corps against Sinestro and Brainiac in DCUO Legends #16.

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Yes.  Star Wars: Invasion has arrived with the new story arc ‘Revelations’.

And the official Star Wars site has an exclusive preview of issue #1 where Colin Wilson sends Luke Skywalker into battle against impossible odds.

Right here – StarWars.com

Epic battles. Betrayal. The Yuuzhan Vong. The Empire. The Galfridians. A secret weapon that could spell the end of the galaxy and more twists than you could poke a double-bladed lightsaber at.

So big we had to do it twice. Yes, two covers! Revelations #1 comes with a cover by our new cover artist, the always brilliant Chris Scalf (artist on Star Wars: Blood Ties), and a special variant by the great Dave Dorman, to mark the 25th anniversary of Dark Horse comics.

And don’t forget, coming in the next few weeks – The Deep!

This Week – Star Wars Invasion: Rescues

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

The trade paperback collection of Star Wars Invasion: Rescues is out this week in comic book stores worldwide. It is also available over at Amazon where, for some reason, it is currently almost half price – http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Invasion-2-Rescues/dp/1595826300 – Very tempted to buy some myself at that price…

“Remember when you first saw Star Wars, that feeling of wonder and excitement at things being new and a wonderful adventure waiting to take you away?  That’s where I was here…If you enjoyed Star Wars then this is a must, pure and simple.” – PDX COMIC GEEK.

Tom Taylor knows how to write a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat and Colin Wilson has made this era of Star Wars his own.” - A COMIC BOOK BLOG

“At times approaching a meaningful theme, other times providing more visceral pleasures, it never fails to entertain. Even the relatively slow parts are kept alive by Colin Wilson’s brilliant penciling. The images of the New Republic soldiers in spacesuits being showered with toxic rain are simultaneously classic and modern, drawing, it seems, from the best aspects of sci-fi aesthetics. The design of the Yuuzhan Vong Tsalok is also awesome, approaching the ferociousness of sci-fi creatures like the Predator. - THE SCI-FI BLOCK

Star Wars: Invasion Returns with Revelations!

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Announced in ‘Star Wars: Insider’ magazine yesterday (and all over the internet overnight) Star Wars: Invasion returns in July with ‘Revelations’.

This image, featuring art by Chris Scalf (of Star Wars: Blood Ties), has been posted all over the internet, so I guess I can post it too…

“Starting in issue #12, this new story arc sees the heroes of the Galfridian family step into their new roles as combatants in the middle of the biggest war the Star Wars galaxy has ever seen. Finn Galfridian has already lost his father and his homeworld to the Yuuzhan Vong, and now he offers himself for Force training by Master Dray-who just might be insane. Elsewhere, Finn’s mother and sister reach the Imperial outpost of Shramar, where refugees from their home planet hope to reunite with their family members. But a mystery turns dangerous and then threatens violent conflict between the New Republic and the Empire! Writer Tom Taylor and artist Colin Wilson continue their ongoing Invasion saga.”

Star Wars Galaxy is the brand new 4-weekly comic from Titan comics, showcasing the greatest Star Wars comic adventures from a galaxy far, far away!each 4-weekly 76-page issue contains three pulse-pounding Star Wars comic adventures.

And, starting today, two-thirds of it is written by me.

Yep, ‘Blood Ties’ begins in the UK publication today, which already features my ‘Invasion’ series.  Nice cover too – featuring Chris Scalf AND Colin Wilson.

“Star Wars Galaxy Comic issue 4 is on sale 20 January! This issue delivers a double dose of new beginnings, as two fantastic stories start!
First up, two fan-favourite bounty hunters, Jango and Boba Fett, kick off a decade-spanning adventure. Boba will discover that the decisions made in Jango’s life have an impact on the life of his clone…
Then the much anticipated debut story from Knight Errant – a new era and a new corner of the universe, where it’s all Sith, all the time! Reckless young Jedi Knight Kerra Holt is about to find herself in over her head, when she and her Master go behind enemy lines in the depths of Sith space!
That’s not to disregard the widescreen action taking place in Invasion. Finn Galfridian has been deemed ready by Master Luke Skywalker to face his first test – confronting the Yuuzhan Vong invasion on the planet of Rychel! Plus, his mother and sister put their escape plans into effect, aboard a Yuuzhan Vong slave ship!” – Broken Frontier

This is the cover to issue 6 of Star Wars Invasion: Rescues. Gaze at it.

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

We have been insanely fortunate to have the brilliant Jo Chen as our cover artist on this series. It always makes me very happy when these appear in my inbox and as soon as the cover to Rescues #6 appeared, I was desperate to share it.

Issue #6 ran into a few problems with solicitation but it will now be in stores on December 15.

This is the cover.  It is stunning.

Star Wars: Blood Ties #3 – Star Wars Invasion: Rescues #5 – One Big Wednesday

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Once again, two of my Star Wars books are out on the same day and both are the penultimate chapters of their stories.

Star Wars: Blood Ties seems to be a bit of a critical success and issue #1 sold almost as many copies the month after it came out as it did in the first month, which is a very good sign. The story continues here.  More is revealed about Connor Freeman, and Boba Fett gets to show off his wonderful toys.

Meanwhile, so much of Star Wars: Invasion has been leading up to this single issue.  There have been some wild theories from fans about the secrets of this series.  Some of those ‘ridiculous’ theories may be proven true in this issue (sorry, some of those ridiculous theories will remain ridiculous).  This is the issue that should have more people talking than ever before…
